Our Origin, Our Story
From the mountains of Colombia, to the city of Toronto

The birth of a dream. The work of a team.
Cafe Conciencia is run and operated by a mother and daughter duo, Rosmery and Angelica. Immigrating from Pereira, Colombia (in Colombia’s Coffee Region, Eje Cafetero), they dream of creating a space where people can connect with the food they eat and savor it with intention. Sharing a piece of Colombian culture in Toronto is their way of honoring their roots. Each plate is an expression of the journey in a new country, the hope that comes with it, but also a reminder to never forget where they came from.
In Colombia, coffee is almost never consumed in a rush. There is always time to sit and enjoy a cafecito; unlike North American corporate coffee shops where a cup of coffee is consumed on the go, in a car, or mindlessly while multi-tasking. By slowing down to enjoy a freshly brewed cup of coffee, we respect the efforts of every coffee farmer in Colombia. Due to the mountainous landscape of Colombia's best coffee plantations, machines cannot be used to harvest and therefore every bean must be handpicked. Every cup tells the story of it's mountain origin.
